An Honest Opinion – A Note to Share With All of You…

I have been a patron and a fan of Edward Wadsworth Salon for more than 20 years.  It’s that faithful place that is always there for someone who needs a laugh (Bad Joke Central), some pampering (lovely shampoos and neck rubs!), wonderful music (name that tune in two measures..), great gadgets for dispensing great coffee and, last but by no means least, a fabulous hair cut.  Now, I can add a massage to the list of favorites to enjoy there.

You cannot fully understand my appreciation for that wonderful hour I spent in that sunny little back-corner room, without understanding a few important facts, 1.)  I am responsible for a large team of temperamental yet gifted professionals, 2.) I just survived having all three of my kids (and the packs they run with) home from college for spring break, and 3.)I’ve noticed that the people around me have started removing sharp pointy objects from my reach on a frequent basis.  So, as a result I am out of patience, broke and can never find a pair of scissors when I need them!  You can see where a bone-melting, turn-your-legs-to jello massage was not only vital to my very existence, but probably kept me out of jail.

On top of all that, I recently had major orthopedic surgery, for which I am receiving treatment from physical terrorists, I mean therapists, whom I have lovingly renamed after their most dominant personality and physical characteristics.  Machine Gun and her side-kick Boney-Fingers (yes, you know who you are) could learn a thing or two from Tracy (who gets to keep her REAL name, by the way)! 

Seriously, Donnie (I know, you hate it when I call you that) adding a massage therapist to the team was brilliant.  I wasn’t kidding when I referred to the salon as a place to go not just to look good, but to feel good as well.  It’s an hour or two of laughter and luxury away from all the stress and chaos. Grabbing a massage is just another reason to go and spoil yourself at EW. I also liked the environment you created for the massage room.  How you set up the room to insure privacy, yet still be able to listen to the buzz and the music going on in the salon just over the wall, just added to the pleasure of the experience.  The sun was coming through the windows, so I felt like one of my cats, contentedly dozing and purring in a patch of sunlight. Shortest hour of my life.

There is one thing missing, however, and that is the wheelbarrow to cart me out to my car and pour me into the driver’s seat.   Take care of that, ‘kay?!
